Born in Medellín, Colombia, Juan Ruiz has emerged as one of the most sought-after jazz musicians in the New York City music scene, where he continues to delight audiences with his music and poetry as the leader of his band. Juan studied at Berklee College of Music with Dr. Shannon Leclaire and George Garzone. A seasoned clarinetist, saxophonist, and composer, he has shared the stage with Paquito D’Rivera in the United States and Latin America. He is widely regarded as one of the most original interpreters of Latin jazz, intermingling stories, irresistible rhythm, and poetry.

Based in New York City, cellist Amy Kang actively explores a broad spectrum of musical genres. Equally athomein both the concert hall and downtown venues, Amy performs as a classical chamber musician as well as with contemporary jazz and Latin American ensembles. Recent performances have brought her to the stages of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as other notable theaters in Argentina, Japan, Panama, Poland, and South Korea. She studied the cello with Fred Sherry. Amy graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in English Literature. She is also a visual artist and studied painting at the L’Ecole Marchutz in Aix-en-Provence. Her current project involves transcribing the Bach Cello Suites into a series of paintings through a system of color-pitch correlation.

Pablo Zinger is an Uruguayan-born New Yorker widely known as a conductor, pianist, writer, composer, arranger, lecturer and narrator. He has conducted and played with orchestras, singers and chamber groups throughout the Americas and Europe, and has shared the stage with singers and musicians of world renown, including Plácido Domingo at Washington’s Constitution Hall, and Paquito D’Rivera at Carnegie Hall. As a sideline, Mr. Zinger has written for The New York Times, Opera News, Guitar Review and Classical Singer, and has lectured for The New York Philharmonic.
