Ileana Pérez Drago holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a degree in Restoration from the Universidad de Valladolid in Spain. She has written the book Hierros de La Habana: La herrería en la arquitectura colonial habanera. Siglo XIX (2009), based on her doctoral thesis El hierro en la arquitectura colonial habanera: Condicionantes formales, técnicas e históricas. She has applied her professional expertise on the rehabilitation of colonial buildings in the Historical Center of Havana and on the architecture of interiors in Madrid and Panamá. She presently resides in Miami.
