A leading lady, Brooke Gomez, is an Oscar-winning, Cuban-American actress with a passion for Greek tragedy. She has successfully achieved the American Dream, only to find it leaves her empty. In taking a pilgrimage to Cuba, she buries the past and builds a new nightclub. But, when she pulls back the curtains and veneer of blue velvet, she finds that the cabaret’s performance extends out into daily Cuban society.
