Cuban Cinema Cycle: Havana in Bushwick

Friday, November 16, 2012 @ 6:30 pm

Gabe Rodriguez‘s surreal film about the journey of a Cuban-American man with a confused cultural identity. Larry Costa plays García, a hero who never speaks. At a party he develops an attraction for a beautiful woman played by Audrey Lorea. Her seductive singing and dancing creates an illusion in his mind and triggers his Cuban memories. García is then led on a magical journey by a muse (Elizabeth Casey) outside of the film and into the Other Realm, where he must reconcile his two cultures.

The film screening will be followed by a Q & A with the director and a panel discussion.
